Afterschool Centre for Career Development is a capacity development organization committed to assisting young persons in transitional stages of their lives set goals and walks them through the achievement of such goals. The Project provides growth opportunities and self as well as career development interventions for and with young people enabling them transit seamlessly from school to work.
As part of its objectives in facilitating learning and growth opportunities for young people in Nigeria, Afterschool Centre for Career Development is partnering with Cross River Watch and The Dialogue team to host the 1st Dialogue Quarterly Townhall Meeting scheduled to hold on Thursday, February 23rd 2017 at the Transcorp Metropolitan Hotels, Calabar, Nigeria.
The Dialogue with Agba Jalingo, is a current affairs program on Hit 95.9FM that airs every Sunday at 6.00pm addressing topical issues from Environment, Health, Social Welfare, Tourism, Hospitality and Security. The Dialogue is the primary platform in the state that drives the Cross River Conversation between Public/private Sector leaders and citizens. The interactive nature of the show enables members of the public drive conversations, demand accountability and offer feedback questions to public and private sector industry leaders.
As an offshoot to the radio show,Cross River Watch and The Dialogue team is partnering with leading organisations in Cross River State to host the 1st Dialogue Quarterly Townhall Series in February 2017. The thematic focus of the 1st Dialogue Quarterly Townhall Series is Harnessing the power of the internet to create jobs for youths. The aim of this Dialogue Quarterly Townhall Series is to drive conversations with the Guest of the Dialogue, H.E Senator (Prof.) Ben Ayade, Executive Governor, Cross River State on the State’s Investment in Information and Communications Technology and the opportunities available for young people in Cross River State.
The other activities billed for the Townhall Meeting include panel sessions, an information session on upskilling opportunities for young people to the improve their the digital skills for employment and engagement in Digital Communications and Technology industry.
